When the idea to create State Chapters of the prestigious Indian Chest Society (ICS) captivated the minds of its stakeholders, none can agree more that entrusting responsibilities would have been a colossal task at the outset. Let me begin by extending my humble gratitude and heartfelt thanks to reverent seniors, teachers and colleagues for confiding in me and assigning the challenging role of Secretary of the Uttarakhand State Chapter of ICS (UKICS) to me. May I assure you of my relentless efforts toward furthering the cause of this ICS offshoot.

UKICS was formally registered in July of 2018, but the efforts behind this landmark achievement date back months earlier. Our motto “Because breath is life” infallibly reminds us to put patients first and motivates us to work toward providing them accurate, evidence-based, compassionate clinical care. In this endeavour, we shall work together for academic, clinical and research interests and extend the benefits of such alliance to the entire gamut of practising pulmonologists, internists and their patients alike.Hoping that the UKICS blooms and prospers in the years to come.
